Informe de Hostelz.com
Ostelli di Alghero Hostel is a very nice place to stay if you are looking for a very quiet place but with access to different spots, like nice beaches with white sand and very clear water as you can find in Sardegna. The Hostel is located in Fertilia, which is about five kilometers from the center of Alghero city. It is a small town which has a couple of bars and shops where you can get anything you need for your stay, including Italian ice cream.

Taking a walk of about twenty minutes, you can get to the best beach of the region, called Le Bombarde. There are also many other really beautiful beaches but this one in particular is well known as the nicest there. Getting to the hostel is very easy -- you can take any bus which takes you to Fertilia, either coming from Porto Torres, Sassari, or the airport of Alghero. All of them stop two hundred meters from the hostel.

The hostel is brand new and the rooms are spacious, at least compared with many other hostels. The hostel is composed of several buildings, each of them with several rooms. Each room has an access door to a toilet which is shared with the room beside it. Right after the main entrance there is a big room where breakfast is served every day. The place has a couple of long tables and chairs to accommodate yourself very comfortably. It has also a dining room with a TV and a small bar where you can get drinks and some meals too. You can also enjoy the sitting area that is located at the garden, especially in summer. In contrast with many other hostels, this one does not have a kitchen that can be used for cooking your own meals, which is very unfortunate.

The atmosphere is very nice and you can find people from all over the world as in any other hostel enjoying the fresh air at night at the garden -- where you can get partners for the next day's activities while drinking some good red wine from the region.

Clean hostel for single travelers
The hostel is clean and the staff very helpful. They don't provide bikes any more, but there's a bike rental around the corner, where you can rent them for 8 euros per day. Unfortunately some of the beds/mattresses are totally worn out and the breakfast is very basic (two days in a row we had just a coffee and a croissant from the vending machine). A nice B&B in Alghero is probably the better option, if you don't travel on your own.

We stayed here this summer (2006) and it was brilliant value for money. The staff we're incredibly friendly. The rooms were much bigger than we expected, they are simple yet comfortable and kept clean everyday. We wanted to stay in Alghero, but after staying here and visiting Alghero we were glad we didn't. There's a regular bus service to the centre. The town the hostel is in doesn't have a lot going on but the beach is so close and there's a great bar, on the beach, with really friendly locals.

I was last here in 2003 — Bene! It's a wonderful place to stay, clean and the staff are friendly. They have bikes for hire to explore the local area and it's very near beaches and bus services to other parts of the Island. Alghero is just a short bus ride away (10-15 minutes) and is well worth visiting.

I visited here in June 2004. There were plenty of beds available, it was very clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly. They can speak English if you can't speak Italian. There's a basic breakfast, you can hire bikes, and if you're coming from the airport you can either get picked up (book in advance), or you'll need to take the bus first to Alghero town, then to the hostel. (I walked/hitched, but of course this is never recommended!) The best beaches are a 15-minute-plus bus ride or a 20-minute-plus cycle away.

Great location, warm & friendly staff, and even if I didn't speak Italian, I had a great time! I would definitely go back.

Very friendly staff gave me an enjoyable stay during October '03. They were helpful and happy to spend time with you. The hostel has good facilities - even if the drive needs a few holes filled! I hope to come again one day!
