Terrible
Don't go here. Simple. The manager seemed nice at first but turned out to be terrible and extremely rude. The "kitchens" are tiny and awful and at times were crawling with ants when I was there. The worst is that several of the rooms have Bedbugs. I found myself covered in bites (about two hundred) after three nights. I didn't know what bedbugs were so I was slow to react. I told the manager and he claimed that I had brought them and that I was dirty. It was horrible.

Do not go to this hostel! The manager, who seemed really friendly and helpful when we first met him, conned us into paying double the amount we were expecting and into booking two nights instead of one "because there was a fair coming to down" (we never saw any signs of a fair the whole time we were there). He also put us into a private room instead of a dorm without asking us whether we minded, and charged us the extra for it. There's nothing you can do about it when he has your passport locked in his safe! I guess we got too used to the generous, trustworthy people you find everywhere you look in Eastern Europe and trusted him too easily. The hostel is at least a thirty minute walk from town, not very sociable, and definitely not worth the money. €50 down the drain.

Not a good hostel for what they charge. Its a thirty-minute walk to the city center or a five-minute bus ride. There is nothing around the hostel. When I asked about somewhere to eat the only option they could give me was McDonalds! The rooms were nice enough, but no atmosphere. There is no common room. They have two kitchens, which is a sink and a burner, not much else. One last thing that I was really disappointed with was that on all the booking pages they stated they had a free pick up from airport and train station. No! When I called to tell them I was in town they wanted 5 euros to pick me up from the train station. I heard this complaint from a lot of people. Apparently they say its a promotion for July, but they havent done anything to fix it. Hostel Celica costs more, but its an amazing hostel that includes breakfast and is near the city. Stayed Aug 25 and 26.

I'm sitting in the Aladin hostel right now wanting to share my experience with all of you who intend to visit Ljubljana. The police have just left saying "we're sorry, but there's nothing we can do" - of course they can't do anything about the fact that 190 Euros have gone missing from my wallet, stolen by a guy who likes to call himself a "student" (you know the ones who study for 15 years and never graduate, but don't miss a chance to rob everebody they can) - a "student" who lives in the hostel permanently, so he just might be there, lurking, when you visit. To make the matters worse, the girl who works at the reception desk and who kindly offered me to leave my suitcase at the reception after the check-out and before the arrival of the bus that will take me to the airport, was actually sitting at the same table with him drinking coffee when the money was stolen and, of course, said nothing to the police. And on top of all that, instead of the price agreed per e-mail (when I booked the bed) they charged me 7 Euros more (instead of 16 I had to pay 23). And although the hostel was full of travellers from all over Europe paying in euros the staff claimed they had no smalller euro notes so now I'm stuck with 100 euros in Slovenian currency (smaller notes I kept for Ljubljana being stolen earlier). Wonder if they take Slovenian Tollars in Greece? Or was it that they just didn't like me? A piece of advice: if you despite it all decide to spend some time in this hostel, beware and be prepared to keep your money and other valuables in your pants (literary). Or, enjoy your journey and stay clear of the Aladin hostel - there might be a ghost appearing out of the lamp and robbing you.
