Ginkgo Hostel has some of the friendliest staff in Europe. They go the extra mile to make sure you have the a great time in Budapest. The breakfast is also excellent -- they have every kind of tea and coffee. They also have cereals, breads, and fruits -- it feels like heaven every breakfast time. The rooms are spacious and there are three bathrooms in this hostel but waiting time is at most ten minutes.
As for location, this hostel is very close to all the attractions. Once you get out of the train station it is a five-minute walk. The Buda castle is a fifteen minutes walk and the Jewish synagogue is a seven-minute walk. In Budapest you can take the metro or tram to anywhere.
Overall, this is a fantastic hostel if you want some quiet time and meet a few people. But this is not a party hostel. If you are looking for that, you can create yours but don't expect automatic party place.
