Don't stay here. Quite simply the worsts place I have ever stayed -- and I've lived in severely austere conditions in third world countries so my standards are by no means high. I booked this room online, conned into the reservation by a description of a private room in a hostel. Instead I was given a generic address to a random doorfront downtown Budapest where i was met (one hour late) by a woman that led me to an apartment several blocks away (in a building which would have been condemned were it located in a most western countries). The apartment they placed me in was downright scary. Decrepit. Infested. Flames shot out of the water heater every time hot water was turned on; a mildewed tub was the only source of bathing (no shower head), there were holes in the walls and ceiling, the windows didn't shut and there were no functioning locks on the door. Oh, I could go on, and on, and on. I'd have felt more safe sleeping in a cardboard box in Compton. 'Nuff said.
