Deco Hostel is a recently remodeled multi-floor hostel that is part of a larger residential building. The facilities are impeccably clean and quiet. The layout is somewhat unique in that on each floor there is an entry into a common area with lockers and coat racks and separate rooms come off of the separate common areas. There are single toilet rooms separate from the wash rooms (they seemed few next to the number of guests they accommodate). Short waits for the showers and sinks were common especially at bedtime.
The communal kitchen/internet/dining area seemed relatively small for a hostel. There's only one standard stove, sink, and microwave, all lined up on the back wall of the room. Breakfast (cereal and milk) is served here every morning. Two free internet terminals are available, which is a bonus. There didn’t seem to be any lounge area.
Deco is not the place to go if you’re looking for a party or planning on stumbling in loudly late from one, but if you’re looking for a clean bed and a quiet place to sleep in after exploring Krakow, this is the place for you. It is a realistic thirty-minute walk from the train station if you have luggage of any sort and fifteen minutes from town center.
