This hostel is simple but efficient. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. There are no washers for clothes available or a kitchen so plan ahead for laundry and food. The hostel itself was practically spotless. There was a large common room with tv, tables, and couches. Plenty of light comes in from windows in the high ceilings. The bathroom has 3 toilets and 4 showers with little changing areas. It is definitely big enough for a full house.
You probably couldnt find a safer hostel, since it is directly across from the police station. Behind it is the library where you are free to use the internet as long as you have ID. You can also watch movies on a rainy day for free. This hostel is between the beach and a park, so you get to hear roosters crow to awake the dawn. You'll have to decide for yourself if that is a plus or negative.
When I was there, the hostel was still pretty empty, but it is so cheap and in a great location that I imagine in the busy period it would be great to exchange stories with others.
