• Ballycastle has good road links as well as a regular bus service. Getting Here by Road - From Belfast: take the M2 motorway to Ballymena, at Ballymena follow the signs for Ballycastle. You can also take the scenic route along the coast. From Derry: Take the A2 Road from Derry. Getting Here by Bus - From Belfast: There is a daily service from the Ulsterbus Laganside Bus Station. The times are:
• Monday-Friday: 7.15am, 9.50am, 11.50am, 14.10(2.10pm), 16.30(4.30pm) - Saturday: 7.30am, 11.05am ,12.45pm, 14.50(2.50pm), 17.05(5.05pm) - Sunday: Unfortunately there is no service in the winter time. You can contact Ulsterbus on +44 (0) 2890 333000, it is advised to contact them before traveling to ensure correct times of services.
• You can also check the timetable on their website at www.translink.co.uk make sure to set the rout planner to Belfast Laganside Bus station as your leaving point, there is two bus stations in Belfast the bus for Ballycastle leaves from Laganside. More than likely you will need to transfer at Ballymena, except for the antrim coaster service. Other Bus Service: There is also a bus service run by McGinns that goes directly from Belfast on a Friday night and returns to Belfast on Sunday night. This is a very good service that goes directly to Ballycastle with any stops. The times are:
• Leaves Belfast: 6.10pm leaves from bus stop oppposite Queens University, 6.15pm leaves from bus stop outside main entrance of Europa bus station in Great Victoria St. The bus arrives in Ballycastle around 7.40pm. Leaves Ballycastle: 8pm from the Diamond in the centre of Ballycastle, the bus arrives in Belfast about 9.30pm. You can contact McGinns by ringing +44 (0) 28 20763451. When you get to Ballycastle... ask the driver to drop you at the Marine Hotel, the Hostel is just round the corner beside the war Memorial.
