Portree Independent Hostel

Originally the hub of postal communication for the Isle of Skye and the outside world, the old Post Office has been converted into an independent hostel that now draws people from around the globe. Sleeping 61 in smaller rooms with up to four beds, and dormitories sleeping 6, 10 and 12 (all linen and bedding is included in the price) there is a spacious kitchen / common room where you can exchange yarns whilst admiring the breathtaking view from the windows, and a well-equipped launderette on site.

The hostel is situated in the centre of the island's largest town, Portree, and as such is an ideal base for touring Skye, the Western Isles and the Highlands of Scotland.

Within easy walking distance are all necessary amenities, including supermarkets, banks, tourist information centre, car and bicycle hire, as well as a number of traditional pubs, eating places and local attractions such as boat trips, museums and Skye's famous walks.
