Descripción
Vilanculos is in the province of Inhambane, approximately 750km North of the capital Maputo. Vilanculos is a large, thriving town situated opposite the Bazaruto Archipelago - which renowned for its tropical islands, excellent diving, fishing and home of the very rare dugongs!
Zombie Cucumber is just five minutes walk from the town centre and fifty meters from the Indian Ocean. Zombie Cucumber is a green oasis - providing accommodation and a bar/restaurant in peaceful and lush surroundings.
Accommodation consists of either 2/3 person chalets or a 9 bedded dorm. All buildings are a mixture of traditional and modern - ensuring a rustic feel but with emphasis on comfort!! The ablutions are surrounded by plants and trees and very clean, with hot water showers. The site is very safe and secure.
The central area is more of a lounge than a bar. You can while away the time playing games, drinking the local beers, chatting with fellow backpackers or making plans for island adventures... or you could just head off to the shade and lounge in the hammocks!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available - using the local fresh produce - fish, calamari, crab, clams, coconuts and the infamous peri peri - vegetarian options are always on offer! Free filtered drinking water is provided.
Whatever island excursion you are looking for Steph and Jon will be able to help. Diving with Odyssea dive, sailing safaris with Sailaway or simple day trips on the local dhows are all on offer. For the more adventurous type water skiing, microlighting and deep sea fishing are all close by.
