From Tofo village walk down the beach for 15 minutes and you'll see the bamboozi bar on your left beautifully set on top of a dune overlooking the sea. Behind that small dune lulled by the Indian Ocean is Bamboozi Backpackers.
Hidden in a thick palm grove there are dorms and private rooms, ablution facilities, common kitchen, and the reception block, all built with local materials (palm leaves and wood). The "classroom" of the on-site dive shop can be used as video lounge on demand and there's a book swap system to prevent you from getting bored whilst sunbathing. All beds have mozzie nets (checked and repaired costantly) and are made daily. The showers and toilet right in front of the main dorm are spotless clean. And there's hot water, but only from 5pm (17:00) on (they heat the water up with fire wood). The common kitchen is a bit on the basic side (a "bring your own matches to light the gas stove" kind of kitchen). Meals in the bar/restaurant on top of the dune are cheap and worth a try.
You enter paradise and leave the world behind. And this also means that you won't find any internet access and any proper road, and that to the closest phone booth is a 15-20 minute walk away. It is a beautiful place to stay but the lack of proper common areas makes it so that you can feel a bit lonely. If you're on your own it can be difficult to meet and connect with people.
