5 Perfect!
I stayed for three weeks at the Residence about two years ago. We stayed in the Sydney room. I loved this place! Everything about it. It's very cozy and has a family like atmosphere to it. The manager, Simon, is a real friendly guy. Ask him for anything and he would love to help you out. The pub next door -- the perfect place for an afternoon pint! The hotel is located in the best area in London - South Ken, a safe neighbourhood, pittoresque parks, and you never get the feeling of discomfort! On the downside, the area is quite posh -- which means it's quite hard to live on a tight budget if you want to go out for dinner, especially if you're a poor student! I think the hotel was like a huge home -- where all the other guests were like your family! Next time I'm in London I will be staying at the Residence -- best value for your money in London!

2 I don't like the residence and I will not come back anymore there
when I booked a mini studio, I've never figured that out so as to mini in the bathroom might seem a train bathroom. The "mini mini mini study" is very noisy -- you hear so much as the other inhabitants, like the street noises that are still much more annoying (luxury cars and trucks poking accelerating, collection of glass rising at 4 o'clock in the morning). landlords were quite strange and you have continuously monitored, I remember that not even allowed to receive visits. The kitchen is shared between all studios and always used to be quite dirty. in conclusions -- if you can choose another site, It's better.

2 East European Atmosphere
There is a misty east european atmosphere pervading The Residence. You enter a nearly hidden door as if you were to go to an alcohol serving bar in the U.S. in the twenties. The only thing missing was a strong guard on the other side, opening a little hatch in the door and asking for password. The impression only gets stronger when you are about to check in and the landlord talks to you on bad english and gives you an insane list of things not to do, or "it will cost you very much money." Behind him stands his hunchback servant with a really evil look, rubbing his hands, possibly to alleviate the pain from his frostbite he must have got from sleeping in the rooms in the winter since the windows have only one single glass. Even the moist carpet can't reduce the sounds of everything going on in the hostel, since the walls are really thin or just not isolated.

1 Horrible
Very small and very noisy studio. I was in Budapest room. The room looking for the street. No double glazed window. Much pub and big noise nonstop. I couldn't to sleep. I couldn't to go school early morning. I'll never ever go back there. At 2 a.m. came the garbage truck and put many glasses with very big noise. Sorry, but I can't speak english well. I went trying to learn there, but I couldn't go to the language school, because I couldn't sleep enough.

4 The Residence was great value for money for an Aussie tourist in London. I couldn't believe how much they were able to fit in one small space (iron, ironing board, hairdryer, place to cook). The location was fantastic for sightseeing and there were great bus/rail links to places further afield. I am hoping to stay there again in June as it is the cheapest place in London by far.

1 The residence is the worst place I've ever been. They told the studio was mini but is two meter by three meter and all for 258 pounds! Trust me, I'll never ever go back there.
