Descripción
Sandia Mountain Hostel is a new building with passive solar features. There are separate dormitory facilities for women and men, a fully equipped kitchen and common lounge.
Highway 14 is known as the Tourquoise Trail, runs North to Madrid and Santa Fe, and past the Sandia Ski area road - which begins just 3 miles from the Hostel. The Sandia Mountains, with Ski Area, rise to 11,000 feet above sea level. Together with the Manzanita Mountains, they parallel the Rio Grande River and are almost completely set aside as the Cibola National Forest. It is less than a mile from the Hostel to the edge of the Cibola National Forest.
