The Location
Dubai Hostel is located around fifteen minutes' drive from the airport. Within five minutes' walk is a huge supermarket mall with restaurants and fast food joints. There is a bus station outside the mall too. It is not located in the hotel area and there are no upscale luxurious shopping malls nearby but its cheap prices (considering normal hotels rates in Dubai) and proximity to the airport make it an excellent value.
Rooms and Bathrooms
A variety of rooms are available, ranging from two- to six-bed rooms to bunk bed rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned with fridge, TV, bathroom, and toilet. We have a four-bed room with lots of sunshine, lofty ceilings and a spacious en-suite bathroom with shower. The dining room where we have breakfast is huge and clean.
Common Spaces
Common sitting areas are plentiful but a bit dour and it seems that nobody hangs out. As smoking is prohibited indoors, smokers tend to gather around the courtyard to chat. Computers and internet access are also plentiful for a small fee. In addition to a tennis and football court, there is also a swimming pool, which is great for a quiet dip.
Summary
This tranquil environment contrasts sharply with Dubai's skyscrapers and never-ending construction works. It's a nice place to relax and unwind. To secure your booking, take note that you need to re-email the hostel twenty days before your check-in date for confirmation.
