Informe de Hostelz.com
An HI hostel located about 10 minutes by bus from the main train station. It's on the river Main with a nice view of downtown and the bridges. Inside there is a sitting/eating area and various other common areas. The common areas tend to be very smoky. It's a large hostel and the dorm rooms are on several different floors (there's an elevator), each with a long corridor with rooms on each side. The rooms and bathrooms are average at best. The guests tend to be mostly German, in addition to a mix of other nationalities.

2 Ok but prefer to stay elsewhere
Ok it's clean and safe. That's about as good as this HI gets. Its full of school groups who make too much noise (including the worst music you've ever heard), the bar is too small and too smoky. It's not particularly sociable. All in all, it's a pretty boring hostel, much like Frankfurt itself. As for location, it is on the river and it is near a nice area full of cafes, but really it's not that good of a place to stay, it's just too boring, sterile, and full of kids. Like I said, much like Frankfurt itself.

4 It was my second time to stay this hostel. I like this hostel because the location was convenient, room was very clean, and breakfast was delicious. But a lot of school groups were staying there. they made so much noise until midnight. Thanks to them, I couldn't sleep first night!

4 Overall I enjoyed the stay here. Our room was nice, it was reserved for a two-person room but they gave us a four-person room, which was nice especially the extra room. Other than that it was a very clean and well-maintained hostel. The location wasn't too bad either, although most landmarks were walk, none were too far. The only negative I can give is that it mostly catered to school groups. There was very few people above the age of eighteen (mostly sixteen or seventeen). They have a little bar which was ok but closed very early.

4 I passed three days in Frankfurt and i found this hostel great! nice common spaces, very quiet near the room but with a lot people ready to have fun downstairs in the common spaces. There's the 2 a.m. curfew but actually we said that we wanted to come back later and the staff was ok with that, when the bar is closed you can ask for some beer also to the front desk and party in the terrace without annoying so much other people. it's a little bit far from the centre, but very near to the Main river in a part that is like a little town full of pubs and restaurant, and walking along the river is beautiful. go there, guys!

5 I stayed here for six nights in June. The hostel itself is probably only worth four stars. I'm giving it five stars because of its fantastic location. It's located next to the Main River in an area called Sachsenhausen. Absolutely brilliant for cafes, restaurants and pubs. We hardly left the area! I must recommend Sam's Sports Bar which is almost a small hop, skip, and a jump away. The hostel was pretty packed, it took us forty minutes to check in but everything was good after that. Breakfast is provided, the rooms were good enough. The WC06 Fan Fest was set up pretty much outside the hostel's front door so that was really good as well. Only downside, we were close to the main road so there was some noisy traffic about. Minor gripe though.

5 I was here in May of 2006 for one night. As far as large scale hostels go, this one is very good. Security is excellent, with key card access to rooms and large lockers inside you can put a padlock on for your stuff. Washrooms and showers were quite clean. Staff were quite friendly. The location of this hostel is particularly good, being right next to a very interesting neighbourhood and some good pubs, as well as being on the river providing some great views. I spent my first night in Europe here and it was a comfortable one. The free breakfast was decent, by hostel standards (I am lucky enough to really like hot chocolate and muesli). There's also a restaurant in the building, that I did not try (lots nearby), and a good selection of vending machines. There are only two weaknesses here worth noting. The first is that, as with any of the DJH hostels in Germany, this place is mostly full of school kids and isn't someplace you're likely to meet people -- well, adults anyway. So if you are alone, like I was, plan on going out alone. The only people in the common areas were either kids or really old people. The second thing is that although they had a pay to use internet terminal, the thing is horrible and cannot be used to write email (which is what we tend to use it for, isn't it?). It doesn't have a proper keyboard, but instead has a series of buttons for keys like you would see on an ATM. I'm sure an internet cafe is close by anyway. There isn't a lot of choice for hostels in Frankfurt, and with that in mind I strongly recommend this place. Though not exactly cozy, it was still clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

5 Great service! people at the desk and the somewhat strange bartender are really nice and helpful people. Beds are a little bit on the short size. Prices are good. price for the room and the beer was cheap and cold. Good position in the city, near a bar area, and fifteen-minute walk from the centre.

4 I stayed here with a mission team visiting Frankfurt in March of 2004. We all really enjoyed the hostel, with the exception of the contruction that started very early in the morning. But that's probably done with now. When we were preparing to go to Frankfurt, our group leaders prepared us for the worst when they found out we'd be in a youth hostel, but we were more than pleasantly suprised with this great facility.

3 Nice staff. Nice common area. Nice breakfast. Institutional, as all HI hostels tend to be. Big bathrooms, big rooms (with big lockers — bring a lock). Clean. Good location; you need a bus from the train station, but you also are right across the river from old town and the shopping area. All in all, a clean, accommodating, comfortable and modern-looking hostel.

5 I stayed one night in this hostel, and found the staff to be extremely helpful. Even though I don't speak German, they were happy to oblige and their English was good. I was trying to hook up with a friend who lives in Frankfurt, and they helped me find his street on the map, gave me directions, and took a couple phone calls as well so that we did eventually meet up. The rooms were clean and new; I appreciated that there was a sink in our dorm. Breakfast was excellent. We had the typical German breakfast of rolls, cheese, and meat. It was a rather large hostel, with lots of people staying there. My experience here was a good one.

1 The rooms are clean, and the cafeteria has pretty good food. However, we felt that the desk staff were deliberately rude to us because we were Americans. After waiting in a long line, it was finally our turn to check in. However, we were snidely told that the registration desk had "just closed," and the desk workers turned and walked away. As to how the desk workers knew we were Americans, we believe they overheard us talking while in line. It was very strange how they behaved. There was also no mistake, they wished to send a message to us, and we received that message loud and clear. During this time, we also noticed the anti-American poster behind the desk (and also on the post out in front of the desk). On the poster was a caricature of Uncle Sam in the process of seating himself on a picture of the island of Cuba, and some comments critical of the U.S. policy toward Cuba. As youth hostels are supposed to welcome all people (regardless of race, religion, or politics), we felt this was inappropriate and contacted both Hosteling International and the German Youth Hostel Association with this information. In response to the desk workers walking away and refusing to check us in, we just waited at the desk quietly and politely. Then a few minutes later, a nicer guy appeared and apologized for the behavior of the others (and was noticeably embarrassed by how they had conducted themselves as well). He checked us in, and we had no further contact with the desk staff after that. We enjoyed our stay, and even made good friends from other nations in our room. However, because of how we were treated, we will NEVER return to this hostel again.

4 A super nice hostel with a great location across the river from downtown. It's on the edge of a historical part of town, Sachsenhausen, with lots of fun pubs. The other residents weren't very much fun, but if you don't care about that, who cares! You'll be too busy having fun in Frankfurt.

3 Better than average breakfast and facilities. As far as booking an extra night, I had to ask at least five times until I found an employee that wouldn't lie and say they were full. They cater more to large groups and not the individual backpacker. Regardless, it was a very pleasant stay.
