Freedom Hostel Budva is a decent hostel within the walled Old City. It is essentially a party hostel, but the party must be taken elsewhere after 11 p.m., which gives a small reprieve to those who need their sleep (alas, not much, because the music from nearby bars is still quite loud). Luckily, it all ends by 1 a.m.
The Location
Freedom Hostel is in its own historical building in the beautiful Old Town of Budva. The building is a little small but it has its charms -- especially the shrubs and cacti growing on top of its very old garden wall and the pleasant common area with its relaxing vibe.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorms and the comfort level of the beds are only average. But the privacy curtains in each are definitely a plus. Each room has air conditioning, which is very important in summer in these parts of the world. But inexplicably, the portable air conditioning in our dorm room had a hot air outlet, which needed to be dangled outside from the open window. Hopefully they will develop a more efficient solution soon.
Bathrooms though are really the tightest bottleneck in this hostel. There are only two of them, one on each floor. And they are not nearly enough for all those guests during morning rush hour. Expect a rather uncomfortable race every morning to win your place in one of those.
Common Spaces
There is a very small garden downstairs with a table and several chairs. But the best part of the common areas is the pleasant guest lounge with sofas and chairs on the first floor -- it's a popular place to hang out, especially in the evenings. Unfortunately, the kitchen is nowhere near as pleasing. There is a very strong, persistent stink in the kitchen from an unidentified source that is probably due to less-than-ideal hygiene levels. Some guests and the staff do use it to prepare their meals, but it certainly is not an appetizing venue.
Summary
Freedom Hostel is an acceptable hostel in many ways and the overall vibe is certainly positive. And the location could hardly be any better. But with some serious infrastructure improvements, it could be much more. Improvements in cleanliness however, is not optional. It needs a thorough cleaning, especially in the kitchen.

Location
When you find yourselves outside the walls of the Old Town, on the left side you will see yachts marina.You need to go to the end of marina where is the last entrance of the old town (Before Dukley beach bar) . Upon entering (after 25 meters) you will see a pizzeria Maradona and just turn right. In that street,( Cara Dusana 21) ours are the white doors, bearing number 21.
