Globetrekkers is a relaxing and friendly hostel where the managers live in on site. It is situate in a home that is now over 100 years old in a quiet leafy street in cosmopolitan New Farm. New Farm adjoins the city centre and Fortitude Valley and is one the trendy suburbs with an abundance of cafés, restaurants, art galleries, avante-garde theatre and is home to the beautiful New Farm Park. Globetrekkers is well located just a ten minute walk to the night clubs and live music venues popular among the younger set in the Valley or Brunswick Street Mall (also the home of Chinatown, the weekend young and alternative markets. Globetrekkers is close to all the popular Australian English and Irish pubs.
The atmosphere at Globetrekkers is always happy energetic and fun with guests frequently becoming good friends and continuing friendships beyond their stay here. By request special events have been organised such as Picnics in the parks or pasta making days. Many people come for a day and stay for a week (or weeks) and nearly everyone reluctantly leaves the hostel. Globetrekkers feels like home!
