Casa Carioka is run by a courageous, adventurous woman who has backpacked in many parts of the world. Alegra knows what you need, where you need to go and will happily assist you with all of your questions. She will always do her best to make your stay in Rio de Janeiro at Casa Carioka an enjoyable and memorable experience.

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION
-SECURITY:
You do not have to worry about security while you are in Casa Carioka. We are situated in a beautiful, quiet street that has a security man working 24 hours. You will feel calm and safe while you are with us.
-THE HOUSE:
All the rooms in the house have BIG windows, sunlight and a lot of fresh air. From the windows you can see beautiful trees with little monkeys swinging in them. We use double bunks in Casa Carioka for your comfort, not triple bunks like most hostels in Rio de Janeiro. The atmosphere of the house is calm, only minutes walk from the beach, surrounded by nature and staffed by helpful, friendly people. You will always feel welcome here. ALL OUR GUESTS TELL US HOW LOVELY CASA CARIOKA IS.
Multilingual, friendly, helpful staff:
English, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese... we will do our best with the languages we are not familiar with.
LOCATION INFORMATION
Our location is unbeatable. Only minutes walk from the famous Copacabana beach, New Year fireworks and Carnival parties. It is close to everything you need - a subway station, bus stops, supermarkets, night life and many restaurants. Casa Carioka is located next to a mountain in a quiet street that has 24hr security in a very safe area of Copacabana. From our verandah, you can see monkeys swinging in the trees. Casa Carioka is really situated in the most amazing spot and so close to the beach.
To get to all the famous tourist spots is easy from the Casa Carioka. A subway and bus stop is only one block away. For your entertainment, we also offer very affordable tours to the most famous attractions like Christo, Santa Teressa, Lapa (the night life area), the city center, Sugar Loaf and we also provide a Favela tour.

| Localización | •We can arrange for your safe pick-up from the airport for 70R. • FROM THE AIRPORT • -TAXI: • Depending on the time and the driver, it should cost between 70-100 Reais. • DIRECTIONS FOR THE TAXI DRIVER: • A Rua Emilio Berla e uma pequena rua que e continuacao da Rua Barao de Ipanema em Copacabana, nos estamos ubicados na ultima casa no topo da subida, numero 180, Emilio Berla. Drive to the end of Rua Barao de Ipanema in Copacabana. Rua Emilio Berla is the small street that goes up the hill at the end of Rua Barao de Ipanema. We are the last house on the right at the top, number 180 Emilio Berla. • -BUS: • Take the REAL bus to Copacabana for 7 Reais. Turn right past the waiting taxis and look out for the aiport bus stop. (See bus station info for instructions on where to get off the bus). The bus takes a long time! Up to 3-4 times as long as a taxi. • FROM THE BUS STATION • -TAXI: • Take a radio taxi from just outside the bus station. You pay a fixed fee at the counter. Will cost about 30 Reais to get you here. • DIRECTIONS FOR TAXI DRIVER: see airport taxi driver directions. • -BUS:Take the REAL bus that goes to Copacabana from in front of the bus station for 4 Reais. They run every 15 minutes and will stop on the main beach road (Rua Avendida Atlantica in Copacabana). Ask the driver to stop at the ´Rua Barao de Ipanema´ . Walk straight up Rua Barao de Ipanema away from the beach. Our street, Emilio Berla is the small street that runs up the hill at the end of Rua Baroa de Ipanema. We are the last house on the right at the top, 180 Emilio Berla. |
