HI - Foulksrath Castle - County Kilkenny Hostel

There is a train and bus station in Kilkenny town. From Kilkenny, it is 12km to the Youth Hostel firstly along the Castlecomer Rd and the turning left toward Ballyraggert. Hostellers coming from the Dublin area should take the bus rather than the train. By alighting at Castlecomer instead of Kilkenny, one can cut about half an hour from the journey. Comer Cabs (056) 41900 087 237 1600 (7 days) charge only €5.50 to the hostel instead of €13.00 taxi fare from Kilkenny town. We recommend the Avalon Bar as the meeting point for passengers and taxi. Alternatively, from the Parade (outside the Castle), catch Buggys Coaches to Conahy Cross, which is 200m to the Youth Hostel. Tell the driver that you want to go to the hostel and he will make sure that you get there. There are transfers throughout the day(except Sunday); the last one is at 5.30pm.
