The Clay Hostel and Hotel is in South Beach, in the heart of the Old Miami Beach Art Deco District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In its early days, the building was a hangout for Al Capone's legendary gambling syndicate. South Beach is renowned for its nightlife!
The Lonely Planet guidebook calls us "the most beautiful hostel in America". Another guidebook, "Hostels USA" awarded us its top billing of four stars, naming us one of the best big city hostels. We believe that's because of our great room rates, terrific Mediterranean ambiance, and location in the heart of South Beach.
The hostel is only two blocks from the white sandy beaches. Nearby ethnic restaurants, nightclubs, and boutiques give the city a Latin sizzle.
We have both male and female dorm rooms with four to six beds and all include a private bathroom on suite, air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a refrigerator. Sheets and towels are available from the front desk just with a deposit.
Dormitory accommodations start at a very good price per night. We offer the members rate for groups over 4.

Cleaning is bad, really bad. the cleaning lady, just empty the bins. They have 12 beds which are supposed to 8 beds. The location is superb. Do not have lockers to store your belongings. I do not recommend at all.
La limpieza es pesima, realmente pesima. la senora de la limpieza , solo vacía las papeleras. Ellos tienen 12 camas donde se supone que son 8 camas. La ubicación es magnifica. No tienen taquillas, para guardar tus pertenencias. No lo recomiendo en absoluto

El hostel esta muy bien situado, en el corazon de south beach, al lado de la playa, tiendas,y de bares y restaurantes. El sitio es limpio y la atencion es super amable. Es un ejemplo a seguir por muchos hostels que dejan mucho que desear. Se echa de menos mas presencia del del idioma español. — xerardo (2006-01-13)
