The "Garibaldini" youth hostel is situated in an ancient building in the centre of the medieval village of Collescipoli where time is still marked by the tolling of bells and mornings are accompanied by the twittering of birds. Legends and memories of past times are kept alive by the stories of the local people. The atmosphere in the hostel is so pleasant and warm you are reminded of those family gatherings that used to take place around an open fire.
The hostel is family-run and the staff are friendly and always willing to help.
Collescipoli is a medieval village characterized by a Boundary-wall side which there are noble palaces, bell-towers, and churches reminiscent of the strategic control that Terni had in the past. The town of Terni was modified by events leaving a testimony for each age: from Celtic origins to the Roman times, the Papal control, the Renaissance, the Industrial Age and the Second World War. Today like in the past it's an example of urbanization and architecture. Ten minutes away there are the spectacular and magnificent Marmore waterfalls into the Nera River Park, where it's possible to practise rafting, walking and horse excursions, mountain bike, climbing and canoeing. The most exacting travellers can relax in peace and happiness where history is evoked by traditions, folklore and the typical Umbrian cuisine. Papigno (Terni) is the very interesting setting for R.Benigni film "Life is beautiful". In the proximity Orvieto, Narni, Stroncone and Carsulae are situated. It's possible to reach Rome by train or by car in about an hour.
