Oslo Travel Tips & Suggestions

This is a nice city but not the best in Norway. Don't miss the Frogner Park (also known as Vigeland Park). I've become a Vigeland's fan since I was in Oslo! You also have to visit the open air Folklore Museum, the Viking Boats Museum, and Akersus. And there's an amazing comics store in the train station!

I love this city! It's the best place on earth! Try and visit in January or mid-winter when there aren't too many tourists. The locals will happily show you around town. Some people probably won't get the ironic, self-deprecating attitude though.

Charming atmosphere and great jazz and rock bars! Frogner Park is just amazing.

Oslo's fantastic! Brilliant sight-seeing, delicious food, and it's really easy to get around. The Munch museum is a must if you like art and Frogner park really impressive. Just take care if you go near Skippergata at night. Otherwise, an excellent place for holiday!

Great city and a brilliant place for a holiday. However, avoid Skippergata, between Karl Johans gate and the harbour. It's a really bad area, especially at night!

We loved Norway, despite the high prices! Oslo is the most beutiful city i've ever seen. Be sure to go to Burgen: the train trip is amazing (book a seat in advance), and go to the market for free samples galore including smoked whale meat! As far as food goes, vegetarians be warned: there is not much for you in Norway. Supermarkets are easy to find (Oslo train station has 3 in it!) and you can survive on cheap chocolate chip cookies and bananas...

It's so cool there you don't wanna leave!

In reality, you really don't need to know a word of Norwegian to successfully get around Oslo or Norway in general. Know that "Heisann" is hello and takk (pronounced "tuck") is thank you. Everyone there speaks English. Also, ladies, Norwegian boys are hot and have cute accents.
