Chandalar Ranch log lodge and out cabins are located in a rural setting. next to the Two Rivers Recreation area about 25 miles from Fairbanks. It offers Aurora viewing, ice fishing, snow shoeing, cross country sking ,snow machining, target shooting and dog mushing in winter and horse back riding, hiking, fishing, canoeing, etc. in summer.
It offer a variety of sight seeing tours for groups and indiveduals.
The lodge is owned and operated by Keith and Velma Koontz. Velma is a Siberian Yupik Eskimo from Saint Lawrence Island in the Bearing Sea. She is an excellent skin sewer and usually has handicraft on hand for sale. She can also give you an insight into one of Alaska's most interesting cultures. Keith has over 45 years expierience in the Alaskan Outdoors and is a hunting and fishing guide. He has lived in both Eskimo and Indian villages and is knowledgeable of their cultures.
They describe their lodge as offering Alaskan Bush Style hospitality(Relaxing and slow paced and everyone treated like family).
