"YHA Newcastle Upon Tyne is very easy to get to -- the simple Newcastle Metro system is easy to figure out. From the Central train station, take the Coast line to the third stop (Jesmond), then take a left (east) on the main road after you come out of the metro stop. The hostel is a five-minute walk on the left side of the street (there is a sign just as you come out of the metro station, but no others, unfortunately). There are no surrounding facilities close (bars, restaurants, or markets), so if you're self-catering, get your supplies...  more »
