Sierra Nevada is a ski station in the province of Granada, Andalusia, Spain. Sierra Nevada, or the Snowy Mountains, is technically a mountain range in Southern Spain that spans from the provinces of Granada, Almeria, and Malaga.

Sierra Nevada is one of the most popular spots in the mountain range for skiing and other snow sports activities. Sierra Nevada is located in the northern region of Mount Veleta, the second-highest point in Sierra Nevada. Mount Veleta means weather vane in Spanish and is the third-highest peak in all of the Iberian Peninsula.

Sierra Nevada is more favorable for skiing than its European counterparts like the Alps or the Pyrenees, for its warmer climate and sunnier weather. Sierra Nevada is closer to the southern tip of Spain and welcomes the hot Mediterranean air. Even though Sierra Nevada is warmer, it still provides an excellent top-of-the-world view of the Andalusian region. Sierra Nevada also has mountain slopes that are exceptional for snow sports. Sierra Nevada has been a popular holiday destination that appropriate for all kinds of snow sports enthusiasts from beginning skiers to the professional extreme athletes. In recent years, Sierra Nevada has been hosting various national and international snow sports competitions.

Sierra Nevada National Park is a protected area and well-maintained tourist destination. The Sierra Nevada ski resort is also accessible through the city of Granada and has small habitable village at the foot of the resort called the Pradollano. The skiing season in Sierra Nevada lasts for almost half a year, mostly from November to May. During the off-season when the snow melts, tourists can enjoy the warm steppe breeze of the mountain by hiking, camping, or horseback riding.

During the peak season, Sierra Nevada gets crowded. Most of the villagers in the village of Pradollano provide housing and lodging. There are also chalets and villas that provide for longer stays. Sierra Nevada hostels are also available for tourists, guests, and vacationers. Hostels in Sierra Nevada are few, but they provide a comfortable and warm stay for their customers.
