I love the city, its castle, its streets, its shops, its parks and gardens, its nightlife, its cultural spirit, and I love its people. Scottish people are the nicest people I've ever met! If it's possible, try to go in August and live the Edinburgh Festival. It rocks! These days the city is full of people all around the world and it can be noisy, but the atmosphere is unique! There are lots of concerts, theater plays, cultural activities, and tons of fun. I hope I will go back soon. It's the city I would like to live in. In short, I recommend Edinburgh to everybody! Comment by kluk Edinburgh is good for a visit. It's kind of expensive in accommodation and foods. As a budget traveler, the transportation cost is more reasonable in Scotland than in North America. The connection to different cities is excellent. We had a great time in the city of Edinburgh, too much to see but not enough time. Comment by Derek A great city. You don't need a car -- for £2.30p per day there is unlimited bus travel in and around the city. Visit H.M.Y. Britannia -- the exhibition is excellent. If you're a Twitcher, the Seabird Centre at North Berwick is five star -- £15 buys you a return rail ticket, which includes entrance to the centre, connecting bus, and entrance to the Concorde museum. They are really well priced, have great Scottish guides, are filled with stories, and they make it really easy for you to have a good time and meet lots of people.
