"Firstly, Sunndalsøra, home of Sunndalsøra Vandrerhjem, is not a great town for backpackers. There is pretty much nothing you can do without a car, and there are no local buses, only regional buses. Taxis in Norway are too expensive to be a viable option for getting around. That said, if you decide to go here anyway, the hostel is pretty nice. It is approximately two and a half kilometers from town and set on the side of a mountain. This means fantastic views, but a very unpleasant walk with luggage, or that expensive taxi.
