Taupo Urban Retreat is located between the main grocery store and the lake, only a few short blocks from both. There are lots of shops nearby as well. The large dorms were some of the nicer we stayed at, with huge spacious rooms, lots of windows, and high ceilings with sloping walls.... Use it as a backup option when others are busy.
