"This place is a great place to stay while you're visiting the Tulum area. It's a bit of a hike to the beach, but there is a hostel run bus twice a day. If you time it right, you can get to the ruins at Coba in just over an hour from the front gate using the ADO bus. There are tons of cenotes close by and the guys at the hostel can hook you up. The place was clean, friendly, and really nicely laid out groundwise. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only negative thing I can think of is that our cabana had a very saggy mattress. "Clean, friendly, and fabulous tacos!!! - I cannot say enough about El Jardin de Frida! I stayed 2 nights last week (october 2011) and had a great time. The proprietor is friendly, speaks perfect english if you need, and takes incredibly good care of his guests. The dorms are standard issue as far as hostels go, but they were clean, neat and spacious. "Fantastic - In a good location, close to town for shopping and services (about ten minutes' walk). On the main drag to the beach. We walked to the beach each day it takes about forty-five minutes to get there but we need the exercise after the great free breakfasts which are out each morning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are great such as the kitchen, free internet, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Very clean and tidy. The rates are great as well.
