"A gem of a place - Located right on the waterfront facing the Sarawak parliament, the lodge occupies a tastefully restored 3 story Chinese merchant's house, now surrounded by the majority of Kuching's antique and artifact traders. "Highly recommended - Small, but not crowded. and wasnt busy during my stay, felt like I had the place to myself. Well set out with good kitchen area and the private room was roomy. Quite a comfortable stay. Walk to to most places from here is easy -- it's a slight uphill coming back but not a problem. Small shops very close. Hosts are not always on site, but whenever I saw them, they were full of information and interested in what I had been doing. "As close to home as we have come in a month of traveling - We stayed at Cozee Hostel for five nights in late October-early November 2007. Wesley made a point to meet us at the hostel and spent probably an hour outlining all the travel-tourist options for the area, which made our visit a great success. The hostel is spotless and offers many "extras" including umbrellas to borrow, a place to wash and dry laundry, use of a stereo, a fridge. "Good alternative accommodation for backpackers - the rooms are very cheap, even by backpacker's standard. I've stayed there in 2007. Got the whole room to myself for only RM18. Room with 2 single bed, a desk and a chair. Common shower rooms at ground floor are massive (no hot shower). Location couldn't be better. Just a stone throw away from old town centre and riverfront. "The City Chime Square is a three-story guesthouse located in the centre of the Heritage Trail area, very close to the waterfront, bus stops, and attractions, all within walking distance. This guesthouse is new -- it opened in April 2007 -- and has a lot of potential, but at the moment it's functional and a work in progress. Within six months it should have loads of character.
