"If you want to get away from the large flocks of tourists that head to Inishmore, the largest of the three Aran Islands, try heading to Inisheer and the Bru Radharc na Mara Hostel. There are places to stay on Inishmore, but there on none on the middle sized Aran Island, Inishmann, and the Bru Radharc na Mara Hostel is the only hostel on the tiny but lovely and tranquil island of Inisheer. "I used to take groups from Dublin, then San Francisco, to Inis Mor and always stayed at this hostel. It was close to to the cliffs of Dun Aengus and within walking distance to the village. I hope the repairs happen soon, because this place is relaxing and super quiet."  more »

"Mainistir Hostel is one of the few hostels available in the Aran Islands, located on the largest island of Inis Mor. During peak season, specifically July and August, it is very important to book ahead of time. The Location This hostel is located atop a hill, which means you have a bit of a hike from the pier where the ferry will drop you off. On the pier, you may rent bikes, which can make your trip easier if you can manage with your luggage.
