"A cheap solution to stay near Lyons or going down the Rhone Valley - I stayed twice in Vienne youth hostel. First time to go down to Marseilles coming from Paris (jan.'06). Second time to stay in Lyons (dec.'06). Small dormitories (four or six beds) with few people sleeping. No breakfast. Closing time at 8 p.m. sharp. so don't be late. Rather old but very clean house. Sanitaries ok -- clean toilets and showers on each floor. Rather cheap (about 9 euros a night with a YHA membership card). An excellent place to have a night when you stay in... more »

Vienne Reisetipps & Hinweise

Vienne is a very interesting historical small town -- both ancient (Romans) and medieval city. There are many small restaurants, pizzerias, and small supermarkets open late at night. It's probably a good place to sleep if you have to stay in Lyons or go down to the South of France by the Rhone Valley. — Jéronimo
