Amazing Hostel in Mindo
If you are looking for a unique and laid back experience in the heart of the forest this is the hostel for you! Santiago was an exceptional host, a fantastic cook, and made us truly feel welcome in his hostel.

A Great Escape
We had a fantastic time staying at El Sapito. The hostel is outside of Mindo, located right next to a river and not far from a waterfall -- an ideal place for chilling in a hammock, or exploring the Cloud Forest. The dorms are clean, and the owner really took care of us -- the home-cooking really hit the spot. I would recommend my entire Mindo experience to anyone going to Ecuador.

Anchored in the heart of the rain forest, El Sapito Hostel is the most beautiful and magical place you can find in Mindo. The rooms are really cute and clean. You'll receive the warmest welcome from the staff. The food is home made and will match your highest expectations. There's lots to do in the area. The beautiful landscapes will please the keen hikers, while the relaxing atmosphere of the jungle is also ideal for chilling. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the area!

Awesome place!
This place is so amazing. It is situated in the middle of the "jungle." You can enjoy the nature and listen to the sounds of the forest and just relax in your hammock. As well you can hike around different waterfalls. One of the best places i have ever been. The staff is so friendly and I had such a great time. I promise I will come back!

A fantastic place to relax, hike, and get in touch with nature.
My stay in El Sapito was one of the highlights during my trip to Ecuador. Located in a beautiful part of Mindo, right near the fresh waters of the river, the hostel really gets you back to nature. Santiago is a charming and friendly host, who can also help you with some spanish lessons if need be! The hostel is equipped with a bar and restaurant, and Santiago knows the area intimately, so is a fantastic guide for walks and information on the area. Come to relax, bird watch, or just to get away from the city.

Truly beautiful
This is the only place worth staying in Mindo! The rooms are beautifully made and extremely comfortable. Very clean and relaxing. The staff (Santiago and company) are the most accommodating and friendly people you will meet in all of Ecuador. The surroundings are extremely relaxing and comfortable -- two hundred meters from a beautiful flowing river. Activities are plentiful nearby, and Santi is happy to take you on a tour, through the mountains, to the wonderful nearby waterfalls, to do a little white water rafting, or to the canopying/zip lines. I could not recommend this hostel more!

Super!
This hostel is great! In the middle of the jungle, with a very good and relaxing guide! The nature is very beautiful, Mindo is the place to be in Ecuador!

Amazing
It's just the best hostel to discover the Ecuadorian jungle. Outside the touristic Mindo, this corner of paradise offer an amazing experience and the staff is nice and professional (even if the boss likes to party with the guests).

Wow!
Beautiful setting in the middle of the cloud forest, with an equally beautiful hostel -- all made from natural materials. You wake up to the sounds of the birds and the river, which is just a short distance away. Had a great time!

Back to Nature
Opinion of this fine place? Well if you want to get off the tourist track and have one of those real weekend excursions then don't think twice. Go there, live it, and love it. Santi, Jackie, and the rest of the crew will treat you as one of the family. Thanks for the fantastic experience guys!

Amazing
el sapito or the little frog is deep in to the jungle or sub jungle cloud forest. i went for a couple of days and it was beautiful, tons of wildlife, i saw a couple of snakes. one night when we were having a couple of drinks we heard a Puma -- how cool is that. Some awesome waterfalls, a real cool place to unwind. With decent walks and this thing called canope which is a zip wire thing. The Birds there -- oh my god, fantastic (not meaning girls but the literal meaning -- the girls are nice too). We saw Toucans, Parrots, and a whole number of different birds that i cant remember the names of.
