| Ort | •Directions for Marthrown of Mabie • • Head out of Dumfries on the Solway Coast road (A710) towards New Abbey, passing through the village of Islesteps. • • 1.65 miles after the bridge following 30mph sign in Islesteps take the turning up to the right marked Mabie Forest and Mabie House Hotel. • • Follow the road up until you get to the sign for Mabie House Hotel, bear left and follow the signs for "Marthrown of Mabie Education Centre" between a white building and a wooden one, past the bike hire shop and through the gate onto the forest track (Speed limit 15mph). • • Proceed up the track for exactly a mile where you will find us on the left. • From Ferry at Stranraer • Head out of Stranraer on A75 for Dumfries then follow instructions above. • From Glasgow Airport • Head out of airport joining the M8 towards Glasgow. After approx 4.5 miles branch left on to M73 signposted Carlisle then on to M74. • Leave the M74 at junction 15 onto the A701 (signposted Moffat). Follow signs at next roundabout for Dumfries then follow instructions above. • By Bus • Take 372 bus from the White Sands in Dumfries to Mabie Forest. We are about a mile and a half into the forest – lifts up available! |
