Besprechung von Hostelz.com
It's small and it isn't pretty, but somehow it always seems to manage to attract fun, young hostelling kids. The location is good, right in the middle of downtown. It's a small place composed of a single hallway with rooms along the sides and a small kitchen/common area at the end. The cleanliness is average, and the rooms are ok, but a little cramped. But the guests are usually young and from a diverse range of nationalities, and it's usually a good social hostel.

Guess you get what you pay for
I was going to book somewhere else but booked the Globetrotter instead as it was cheaper. Guess you get what you pay for. I was pretty disappointed. There are no lockers to store your belongings and so I was stuck carrying the valuable things like my laptop and hard drive all around the entire time I was there. I was on top bunk in the dorm room with no ladder provided to get up to the top bunk, it was pretty interesting getting up there. No sinks are in the bathrooms and no hand soap provided. The refrigerators are small and jam packed full, great difficulty storing food. Rooms are very small and I had two roommates who by the look of things must live there as they have so much stuff all over the room and I had no place to unpack my clothes to. Oh and it really isn't that clean. Should have stayed somewhere else, much better for not that much more! Next time I won't save a few bucks at the cost of my comfort.

Pretty lame
Not really a fun hostel. Was full of long-termers all working in the restaurant industry or looking for work. Good location though, just don't wander in to the tenderloin. My room was extremely small and full of bags and random crap the long-term renters had accumulated (which isn't the hostel's fault, I know. But the room was tiny for four beds). One of the showers had a padlock on it when I was there, but the one on the second floor was good. Overall, it isn't a rancid hellhole but don't expect to be having a good time here.

real nice first hostel experience. brad and yuri, the employees, are really nice. they will answer any of your questions you have about the city. there are two computers provided to the hostelers with internet access. the TV room/kitchen is a great place to meet other people in the hostel. the shower upstairs is kind of small compared to the one inside the kitchen (so if you want some room and a better shower head use the kitchen shower). while the hostel is next to "the tenderloin," there's no worry, the people standing around won't hurt you, maybe just ask for money or try to sell you something. you can come and go as you please, and the hostel is only two blocks away from the powell/market station. they offer a weekly rate of 110 which is a really great deal. oh and dont forget the japanese style artwork painted on the doors (well two when you walk into the hostel and one on the first floor). oh and they have a collection of books in the library for your enjoyment. cable television, if you are wondering. your mattress might be take or give, a mattress pad might be nice for some.

Last week I called the Globetrotters Inn to reserve a private room for three weeks. I spoke with Andy who put my name in the books and took down my credit card information as well. I was to check-in on 22 September — tomorrow. I just called to verify, and was told that even though my name was in the book, someone was already staying in the room until at least Sunday, September 25. This is very disappointing and terrible customer service! Now I'm left with no place to stay for three weeks in San Francisco! I wouldn't recommend a place that treats people with hostility and does business indifferently!

I stayed here a few days ago, for almost a week. Fun people, ok clean but not brilliant. It's cheap ($17 per night), and that's what it looks like. But, the people were fun and the location was good — as long as you didn't walk into the Tenderloin area (to your left when you walk out the door). Relatively little noise and only four people in your room for $17 bucks is a good deal. Use the kitchen/common room! The people are a lot of fun. I would probably stay here again (unless I win the lottery).

A messy and most enjoyable time was had by all. Anybody that remembers me from summer 2003, I was the pizzaman.
