Jetpak City Hostel

Whether it's called "Jetpak City Hostel the 2nd," "JetPak Downtown Berlin-West Hostel," or any other name, it is a great hostel. This is an ultra-clean and modern hostel. The thing that stands out most of this hostel is their award winning staff that goes out of their way to make your stay in Berlin more enjoyable. The staff offers you free maps, then sits with you to help you make a plan of the sites you might be interested in seeing based off of what you’re interested in (historical sites, art, music, theater, etc.).

The hostel is a quiet one, but the friendliness of the staff more than makes up for that. The rooms are very clean with new beds that are very comfortable and even offer free linens. The bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean and nice. There is a common area, although it’s small, which has a Mac computer which guests may surf the internet for free on. Rooms also have free wi-fi (wireless internet access) for those travelers with laptops. There is also free coffee or tea available in the common area, as well as storage lockers for your important personal belongings.

The hostel is located above a restaurant and to get in you need to push the button labeled “JetPak Hostel” for someone to come greet you and to get a room. After that, you are given a key to the hostel as well as a room key, so you may come and go as you please. The location of the hostel is just a few minutes walk from the Zoo Station and a few blocks from the Kurfürstendamm (or Ku’damm for short), which is loaded with shops and restaurants. With that said, most of the sites of interest are located in East Berlin which is a far distance from this hostel, so the inexpensive public transportation pass is something very highly recommended. There is a subway stop (U-Spichernstrasse) that is less than a one minute walk away.

This hostel is definitely a great place to stay and they have awards to prove it.
