Stay Korea Homestay is located a short subway ride from Seoul city centre. It has a warm and hospitable atmosphere, thanks to the friendly owner. She speaks French because she lived in France many years -- hence this is a popular place with French-speaking guests.
The Location
The hostel is located in Shin Chon, which is a university district with lively bars and restaurants. The hostel itself is in the backstreets in a quiet cul-de-sac. It is a five-minute walk to a major street with banks and subway station, as well as the airport bus (it's about an hour to the airport, depending on traffic).
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel has dorms and private rooms. The place is well heated in winter and the covers are warm and pleasant. The beds are comfortable. There is one bathroom per floor, and the one on the ground floor opens up on the lounge. The shower is nice and powerful and the bathrooms are roomy, with enough hooks and space to change comfortably.
Common Spaces
There is a common kitchenette and lounge with TV on the ground floor which is where most travelers hang out, but there are also free internet computers in the upstairs hallway. The lounge is a cosy place to discuss things to see in Seoul and the owners are really helpful and will go out of their way to assist you. There is also a free continental breakfast served every morning and many books for exchange on the shelf. There is a small gated courtyard at the front which is pleasant during summer. You are given your own key to the gate and to your room.
Summary
Stay Korea Homestay really has a family feel to it, is really a warm cost place to stay, and it's not too far from Seoul centre. The fact that it's located on the airport bus route is very convenient.
