Beschreibung
The hotel is the large red building in the centre of town. It is over 120 years old, but beautifully built. We are restoring it to its former glory. The bedrooms are large. Bathrooms are share shower/toilet combinations. Ratio 1:5. Also on site is the backpacker facility with dorm rooms ranging from 2-6 bunks. We have two separate kitchens (one new), a large games room, plenty of off street parking, free washing machines, and an internet cafe, plus dining rooms for functions. We have a free phone (local only) available for card use.
We have international clientele. Most stay a while to pick fruit and make some money to travel more. They all bond well and all improve their English. It feels like one big happy family with many telling their friends to come. We do try to organise work, and transport for them. Some stay for months.Others are overnighters.
Our town is small and friendly. No bank, credit card or ATM facilities however. (nearest are 25 minutes away in Alexandra to the north). We do have EFTPOS, internet and phone cards.
There are several sports facilities in town, a cinema and several shops and cafes.
We do welcome genuine tourists or workers. We reserve the right to refuse entry.

| Ort | •Situated in the centre of the town, near to bus stops, shops etc. Seasonal work (fruit picking and packing, some thinning of apricots and apples, and some pruning over the winter) available. Need work visa, IRD number and bank account. No credit card facilities in town (for cash). • We have 60+ beds. WEEKLY rate very favourable. Single rooms, twin, doubles, and dorms. Hotel and backpacker facilities. New kitchen. • Our valley offers fishing, tramping, horse trekking, golf, other sports, and clean fresh air. Beautiful Clutha River runs past the town. We are on bus routes to and from Dunedin, Queenstown, Wanaka, Invercargill and the Lakes- Te Anau to the south, and Mt Cook etc to the north. • The town is small but has shops, hotels, takeaways, cinema (lovely theatre) and parks, walkways. Friendly local people. Medical centre and Rest Home. Jimmy's Pies are baked here!!! Roxburgh Hydro Dam and the Teviot Hydro Dams are local attractions. • The orchards produce cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums and then apples between November and June. Pay can be very good in a good season. We help with job search and form filling. • Our accommodation has a games room, TV in each room, heaters, and friendly hosts.
