If you're a walker or cyclist, you won't have to wait long to stretch your legs as the hostel is car free and accessible via foot or pedal power through National Trust woods. There's an extensive network of footpaths and bridlepaths to explore around the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For garden lovers don't miss a stroll to Polesden Lacey, a National Trust Regency mansion and RHS Wisley is only 10 miles away. For the kids there's Brocketts Farm a working farmyard with loads of activities to keep the little ones amused and Chessington World of Adventures and all London attractions are all within easy distance making for great day trips.

| Ort | Pedestrian/walking Route - from Box Hill and Westhumble train station turn left follow out of staton and road for 2 miles turning left at Badgen farm, pass the farmhouse on your right hand side and take your first right down an alley by the side of the barn. Walk straight aross field until you reach gate at the end and turn left onto track. The hostel is approx 75 metres up on the right hand side. By Car from the M25: Leave at Junction 9, Leatherhead and follow signs onto the A24 towards Dorking. You will go over a couple of roundabouts and at the first set of traffic lights turn right into Aschombe Road (also marked up Guildford business centre)drive straight down Aschombe road go straight over mini roundabout and turn right at t-junction towards Ranmore and Effingham. Follow road up long wide hill until you see two national speed limit signs approx 5 metres after that you will reach Denbies hillside NT carpark on left handside where you must park your car (Fee £2.00). Walking to the hostel from carpark you will need to turn left out of carpark, cross over the road and and take second track on the right hand side (by four fox cottages which is the last little cottage you should see approx 30 metres from carpark) Next to the cottage is double gate and sign to Youth Hostel - take the central track and follow signs - approx 10 min walk . |
