Rossi Hostel

Rossi Hostel is a beautiful, spacious, clean, and bright apartment situated only a couple of minutes' walk from the main tramline, with easy access to train and bus stations, as well as the city centre.

The apartment has two dorm rooms with four beds each and a double room that also has a private balcony. Each room is spacious and has wardrobes and cupboard space along with a couch and chairs. There are two bathrooms (with great showers), and a fully equipped kitchen inclusive of a fridge and even an oven, as well as a dining area complete with table and chairs. There is also an inside balcony area just off the kitchen/dining area which has a view and a clothes rack for drying clothes.

Inside the kitchen itself is free tea and coffee as well as a television and a tape/CD player. There is also a washing machine that you have to pay extra to use. Overall, the décor is bright, modern, and spacious, and the kitchen has a nice retro feel to it.

The owner/manager, Rossi, will pick you up (for a small fee) when you arrive if you arrange it ahead of time. It's a good idea to do this as it is a little hard to find the way to the hostel amongst the multiple apartment blocks. However, if you'd like to make your own way it is possible from the bus or train station. Take the number 7 tram in the direction of K. Nadeszda for five stops. There is a small street on the left called Sava Filaretov. Go left down Sava Filaretov and then take the second street on the right. On the right hand side there is a burnt orange/beige two-tone apartment block with the number 150 on the side of it. Alternatively, if you have a map, the apartment block numbers should be shown on it and you can find it that way.

Rossi is very friendly and helpful, and keeps the place meticulously clean. She is also highly organised and has a folder with lots of information about getting around Sofia, as well as maps that you are free to use whilst staying in Sofia. This place is really a delight after being on the road and staying in all sorts of different places. In particular, it is secure, quiet, private, and marvelously clean. If you value privacy and being able to cook and make yourself at home, this is really the place. We would highly recommend it!
