This hostel has all that you want from a hostel. It's conveniently located, very well priced, and has excellent information about getting around Singapore. Whether arriving by bus or plane, it's easy to reach. Go to the nearest MRT station and alight a BUGIS station. From there, cross the road and take the next right onto North Bridge Road. The hostel is 100 meters up on the left.
Upon arrival you are shown the shower area,
free internet and kitchen area (there is free toast and tea provided on a morning), and finally your room. The hostel is quite large, situated on three floors, but there are only six showers in the building, so there may be a wait for a shower at times. At the very top of the building there is a rooftop bar which is open til approximately 12:30 -- be warned if you are in one of the double rooms next to it and have an early start. The hostel has a good atmosphere and the are always people milling about to talk to and learn travel information from.
The rooms are quite small but clean and the hostel presentation overall is hygenic. At the reception desk there are many pamphlets and leaflets for you browse through and any information you cannot find in those you can enquire about and the staff will happily help.
Situated close to the hostel is Raffles Hotel as well as Orchard Road - the main shopping area of Singapore. The MRT trains can get you to any part of the city that you wish to see in a short time. The zoo, bird park, and night safari are all recommended - and if you buy a joint ticket you can do them all for a little cheaper. A trip in the cable car to Sentosa Island on the Southern tip also gives you a great panoramic view of Singapore.
In summary, it's a good hostel to stay at as the information is first class, the price is right, the rooms are more than passable, and it's in the heart of where you need to be in Singapore.
