This budget hotel has just one dorm room at present and seems to attract travelling locals as well – not always a good sign but they are renovating a bit and desperate for custom at the moment so it could change later.
There are three bunk beds on the first floor overlooking the access lane leading to the hotel. It's a good location right on the main road (Lorong Chulia) leading through Chinatown and the traveller's hang out point but about 50m down a side road for peace and quiet.
The E+A is undergoing a huge facelift and the rooms are all being renovated and painted. They plan to develop an internet café downstairs eventually so that would definitely be a bonus. I didn't see any other hotels or hostels with their own internet (although there are plenty in the street). It's a bit noisy with all the renovations but this should stop soon and if you like escaping the main traveller's hangouts it would be ideal. I wouldn't be too happy about sharing a dorm room with local traveller's. Nothing against Malaysians but most places where they get local clientele can be rife with theft, etc.
