One of the cheapest hostels in town, Annie's is also one of the best. You won't miss it with its brightly-coloured walls, which emphasise the friendly atmosphere within. The location's great. The staff here really go out of the way to make your stay perfect.
The dorms are arranged in a motel-style layout, with many opening out onto the swimming pool area. Each has its own en-suite bathroom and decent-sized TV! The standards of cleanliness and general condition of facilities are excellent. There is an internet room (best rates in town, even cheaper if you use it during the daytime), a well-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a bar/restaurant. The restaurant is fantastic and hostel guests can choose anything off the menu for a special price (currently $5), no matter what it normally costs. (Kangaroo curry is particularly popular!)
Heading out to Uluru? Annie's have their own tour company "Mulga's Adventures" which offers a fantastic highly-recommended camping tour. There are daily departures and the trip is probably the cheapest available (all of them do the same things, stay at the same places etc.). Free luggage storage is available while you're gone, and this is available even if you are going with another tour company.
Unusually, Annie's even offers a free lift to the airport, train, or bus station when you leave. Many hostels offer free pick-ups to get you to stay in their hostel but couldn't care less what happens when you leave. But Annie's really go out of their way to give you a great experience. Because of this, the laid-back and friendly atmosphere at the hostel is really something special not to be missed!
