Public transport in Sydney is cheap and convenient. To get to the Abbey on King from the city: • • By bus numbers #431, #432, #433 or #434 from anywhere on Sydney's George Street, the main thoroughfare between the harbour at Circular Quay and Central Station - get off the bus stop after Newtown Station and The Abbey is across the road. • • By car from the City heading south, follow George Street towards Central Station, into the Broadway, turn left onto City Road (opposite Victoria Park). City Road then becomes King Street Newtown, drive through Newtown shops until Newtown Station, keep left on King street and The Abbey is 100 metres on right hand side. • • By train from the City, take the Inner West Line and two stops past Central Station you are at Newtown Station, alight and turn left on Kings Street, the Abbey is 100 metres on your right.
