Alaska Youth Hostel

I loved this hostel! It truly reminded me of Alaska. It's a beautiful log cabin-style building located outside of the downtown area (7.5 km) in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by tall pine trees. Some travelers may find the location inconvenient but I enjoyed riding the bus into downtown Bariloche; the bus stop was about a 1/4 mile from the hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Romi and Martin. The kitchen was very spacious, as were the dorms. The kitchen, showers, bathrooms and dorm rooms were kept very clean. There was an interesting mix of travelers exploring the beautiful Patagonia region. The only complaint I have is the first two nights were spent in the dorm room on the lower floor, which was very noisy with people walking around on the floor above, and the toilet did not work. I strongly recommend the Alaska Hostel for travelers going to Bariloche. But again, it's not in the middle of town so be prepared to walk to the bus stop and ride a crowded bus. The gorgeous surroundings are worth it.
