AAE Mosquito Hostel in Krakow is an excellent, very well run hostel. The staff are extremely helpful and approachable. They all speak excellent English and can advice you on tours of the city as well as Auschwitz and the caves. With comfortable beds and with something new and exciting offered every night of the week, it definitely stands out as one of the best hostels we have stayed in. The hostel has a complimentary breakfast included in the price which can't be beat. it consisted of cereal, bread with the option of toast, ham cheese, salad, yogurts, and fruit.
The Location
The hostel is located a ten-minute walk away from the train station and is very centrally located just north of the city. A five-minute walk south will bring you into the town centre and all the attractions are within walking distance. It is fairly easy to find from the train station and is clearly recognized by the Mosquito sign outside. You will need buzzed up and climb two stories to a transformed part of the building with friendly, smiling staff and brightly coloured walls.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms consist of bunk beds and lockers. The beds are very comfortable and all your linen and pillows are of course included. The lockers are enormous and can fit an entire rucksack. There is the option of a private room, however, a ten-bed room or less offers enough private space as is needed for any traveler.
The bathrooms consist of two showers and a toilet for each of the sexes and are terrific. They are always clean, enough room to change, and hot water is consistent. Supplied are hooks and a storage space for clothes or washing bags and a drying rack is also provided upon request. The washing machine is located in the female bathroom.
Common Spaces
The common spaces are excellent and spacious. A wide-screen TV is positioned on the wall opposite one of the seating areas and the kitchen offers a toaster, microwave and more, as well as eating utensils and plates/bowls. There is one free internet point in the common area beside another smaller seating area where board games are offered for free. Also offered is the ability to store and lock luggage.
Summary
This hostel is a very sociable hostel and you are very likely to meet other friendly, like-minded backpackers here. With it's themed décor and clean and smoke free environment, it offers relaxation after a tired day of walking around Krakow with the opportunity for fun every night of the week.
