Description

La Casa del Sol is a hostel with a Colombian spirit for people with good energy. Located in Calasanz a very exclusive district of the city with a capacity of 20 people where the travellers do not feel alien and where literally can feel themselves at home.
This is a calm hostel, but cheerful and funny with walls painted in colours by artists, where the visitors can take a rest, read, learn and practice Spanish. (The principal language of the hostel is Spanish). This is the place where you take a nap for hours without worrying about a thing after a long night of clubbing.
This is a big house with a lot of different environments, commune places.
- Two dormitories (for 8 and 6 persons), lockers, fine mattresses and clean, white sheets all the time.
- 3 private rooms, 2 with private bathrooms (Double bed and one with a single bed) and one without a bathroom but with a twin bed
- Towels are free for everybody
- Game room with a ping pong table, cable TV and Playsation 2, board games and cards
- A Movie Room with a lot of DVDs
- A 24h kitchen with everything what you need
- 2 open air spaces where you can smoke drink a beer or a fine liquor
- Free Colombian coffee and tea between 7:30am – 10:30am
- 2 computers with internet and WIFI all over the house
- Library with international literature in Spanish and book exchange for everybody.
- We make BBQ in argentine/Colombian style when we share a nice afternoon with the travellers
- Laundry service within one day!
- Free local phone calls
- Hot water in all the showers 24h a day
- From the friendly staff you will get all the information what you need of the touristic and non touristic places of Medellin, transport information and they will help you solve all your problems too.

Close to the hostel you will find bars, restaurants, fast food, pharmacies, banks, casinos, supermarkets and more.
Located just 2 blocks away from the metro station Floresta from where you can get to anywhere in the city. Just 10 minutes walking from the Sadium Atansio Girardot where you can practice all kind of sports like gym, tennis, athletics, etc
For who prefer to take a taxi for example could take a taxi to Poblado (Bar district) or to the city centre for just 8000COP (4USD) which is not expensive or share with others is almost nothing.

There is just one rule: COEXISTENCE

• * If you arrive at the North terminal, you can take the metro ($1.400 ticket us$1.00) from the Caribe Station and go to the San Antonio station and change the line to the Floresta station. Exit the metro towards the bakery and then go up 2 blocks and turn right and walk for 2 blocks and then turn left on 49 street.
• * You can also take a taxi from the North terminal that costs betwen $8.000 (us$4.50) and $10.000 (us$6.00)
• * If you arrive at the South terminal, you can take the metro ($1.400 ticket us$1.00) from the Poblado Station and go to the San Antonio station and change the line to the Floresta station. Exit the metro towards the bakery and then go up 2 blocks and turn right and walk for 2 blocks and then turn left on 49 street.
• * If you arrive at the International Airport José María Córdova (Its located 1 hour away from Medellín), you can take a bus to the center and then, take a taxi to the Hostel, or you can take a taxi from the airpot to the Hostel, it cost $52.000 COP ($26.00 USD aprox).
