Situated only a stone throw from the Indian Ocean Morgan's Bay Backpackers offers something for everyone looking to get away from the noise of the city.
Stroll along the shoreline exploring rock pools or laze on the beach where you can watch dolphins and whales frolic in the waves. Swim either in the ocean or in the lagoon. For the more active there are beach horse rides, hiking along the rugged coastline, explore indigenous forests while looking out for the more than 200 species of birds and enjoy a pizza after your walk, tours to neighbouring Xhosa villages or nearby game parks can be arranged for you. In the evenings gather at the bar for lively conversation or competitive pool games and on sporting days cheer your team along. For the surfer Morgans Bay is an exposed break that has reasonably consistent surf. There is a right point break and a beach break. Summer offers the best surfing conditions.

| Ort | •Morgans Bay is a tiny town on the wild coast between Mthatha and East London in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. • Directions for those wanting to drive to us • From the N2 between Butterworth and East London take the Kei Mouth/Morgans Bay turnoff. Drive approximately 25 – 30Km till you see a large aeroplane. Just after this turn right onto a dirt road following the Morgans Bay sign. When you get to the residential area take the first right into Cherrywood Road. At the ocean/T junction turn left. We are the first building on the left. The sign says Mitford Lodge • We do pick up from the airport and the Baz Bus drop off |
