The Garden of Blues Hostel is a charming and friendly hostel located in a buzzing area. The hostel has great facilities and has a very friendly atmosphere. It’s perfectly sociable without being a party hostel, which means it’s a great place to relax.
The Location
The Garden of Blues Hostel is located right in the middle of the popular Poblado neighbourhood of Medellín. This area has lots of restaurants, bars, and hostels and is one of the best areas in the city for nightlife. The hostel is just off the main road and easy to find. From the airport and the bus terminal it is around a thirty-minute to one-hour journey depending on the time. The closest metro is an easy, twenty-five-minute walk away and provides access to the rest of Medellín.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are bright and open and have very pleasant decor. There are plugs next to each of the beds and lockers are provided. The beds are clean and comfortable and there is a decent amount of floor space for bags. The rooms overall are very pleasant.
The bathrooms are located throughout the hostel and so depending on the room it may be necessary to take a brief walk. The bathrooms are clean and on the smaller side. They are all very modern and have mirrors and good facilities.
Common Spaces
The common spaces in the hostel are a real asset and have a lot of pleasant areas in which to relax. There is a nice patio at the front of the hostel, which has large plants placed strategically so you have some privacy from the main street. This is where breakfast is served in the morning and it's also a very sociable area to hang out at night.
There is a chill-out area with ample sofas and places to relax just by reception. In reception, there is plenty of information on what to do in Medellín. The only bag storage provided is leaving your bag in the open by the front desk.
This is definitely not a party hostel, but has very friendly vibes and it's easy to meet new people. There is so much going on the surrounding area to explore at day and night, so it's worth exploring outside the hostel, especially in the evenings.

The Garden of Blues has a very tranquil daytime atmosphere and it's very easy to meet new people. It has great facilities and is a great place from which to base yourself while exploring Medellín.
