Good place in Quito
The location is between old and new town, a block north of the Eugenio Espejo hospital. Its about a fifteen-minute walk to old town, and safe to walk, at least during the day. Very clean beds, the best hot showers in Ecuador that we found, and helpful staff. The on-site restaurant is a bit overpriced by Ecuador standards for breakfasts and pizza, but they have specials before 6 p.m. that arent so pricey. There are also a few local eateries nearby. They have a very secure storage area where you can padlock your bags for long term storage.
