Meh..
Having lived and traveled throughout Ghana this is not one of my favourites. It is quite a trek from Capecoast so if you are not prepared to take Tro-tro or pay for a taxi you are better off staying in town. Nice, relaxing atmosphere great for ex-pats looking to relax in Western comforts -- not so great for people wanting more of a cultural experience. Stayed there for two nights and the pool remained green the whole time. They have a monkey in a cage which is very miserable and the overall treatment of animals is quite disgusting minus the crocodiles. The people are really nice, great jazz! So it is hit and miss.

An absolutely brilliant place to stay. Very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the owners and the staff. This is living in Africa at it's best. I lived at the Botel for more than six months, part of the time with my wife (we are both English) and we didn't want to leave. If you love live music then this is the place to stay and you are encouraged to join in.
